To me, a sense of home is not defined solely by settling in one place. Rooted in my experience of living across different places, this work questions whether home must be tied to a single location and explores the different ways it might exist for me. These questions take shape through furniture composed of multiple individual pieces. Each piece can stand independently or be joined with others to form a structure. The process of assembling and moving these pieces reflects my own experience of passing through different places and states rather than remaining in one location. Numbers associated with the places I have lived and passed through are inscribed on the surfaces, recording experiences of different places in the same manner, without establishing a hierarchy among them. This approach to recording reflects the way I have come to understand home through moving between places. The furniture is repeatedly assembled, moved, and placed in different locations. Through this process, I come to see home as something that does not remain in a single, fixed state.
